4 ways to style that LBD in the winter

Tuesday, February 17, 2015

Ok ladies, this winter lets take a play from Gracey from Gracey the Giant's portfolio and dress up a career smart classic, the black dress (LBD)!  Try these 4 tips to remix your LBD this cold winter season:
  • Accessorize in Style- Layer a printed top underneath your LBD, add a little shine with a great belt and don't forget to let you feet pop with a fun pattern.

  • Its a Wrap- Stay warm and look fabulous by adding a turtleneck under and a wrap over your LBD.

Go Bold or Go Home- Add a bold coat or blazer over you LBD to give your look new life.

  • Take Classic to Boho- By adding a printed top under and layering a belted sleeveless sweater vest over you LBD you can add a bit of BOHO to a classic piece. Do not forget the leggings and boots to take you look over the top.

Soft Valentine's Day Makeup Look

Monday, February 9, 2015

Hey Professionistas, Spring is almost here!  As the sun peeks through and melts the last bit of winter, we out break out of  winter slumber and begin to prepare for slightly warmer days.  I was delighted for it to be warm enough to bare my legs for the first time in a while however I was not ready to give up my super stylish scarves.  I was so excited to be able to wear this fantastically, fuzzy scarf that I pick up earlier this week from a local, teenage artisan named Whitney Poole. They were so great and affordable, I actually had to pick up two.  If you are looking to pick one or have her make a custom one for you or someone special, you can email her here.  Also helping us with spring preparation today is Beauty Consultant Kellee G.  Kellee's spring "Pink Matte" eye look below is perfect for Valentine's day has inspired me to soften my V-day look with soft curls, this blush top and a bold spring floral from J. Crew.  To see what products Kellee used to get the look below check out her blog,  Kelleemudiva.  I used my favorite baked Trio, Horizon for my eyes, a little Bold Berry blush on my cheeks and Fancy Nancy Nude lip gloss, to keep this look soft.

#FCDATENIGHT

Valentine's Day is right around the corner and I can't wait!  It is a day full of love, passion and color.  Whether you are showing love to yourself or the people around you, take a minute dress up, feel pretty and share your greatness with someone else.

Since we are on the topic of things that I love, French Connection recently launched their US blog and I love their strong, feminine sensibility and style so I had to attach my dream Valentine's day #fcdatenight look for some Vday fashion inspiration, along with some great Valentines day tips:
  • Show that Silhouette- This is the day to show some curves, so whether you dress is flowy or form fitting like this beautiful, printed number, make sure that is it is flattering and highlighting your best attributes.  There is nothing prettier then a women that is confident in her skin and clothes.
  • Get Noticed- Whether it is with a show stopping print, bold color choice or bold accessories, these items will make sure that people or a special person will not be able to keep their eyes off of you.
  • Have Fun- Its easy to get caught up in the mayhem of this day so have fun with it by adding a playful shoe or clutch that reminds you to let loose.
Remember Valentines day is the one day carved out just to remind us to make time for ourselves and the special people around us, so whether you are going out or staying in, take care of yourself, eat something decadent and do or wear something that makes you feel beautiful.
