What 2 Wear: Holiday Tea-tastic
What do you wear when you are invited to a tea? Well a hat of course! I had the honor of pulling together a holiday tea for the women's ministry at my church and luckily for me it gave me a chance to wear this great vintage dress from the 60's from Dusty Buttons. I set up a little hat station and my little ladies (in the picture above) and I both pranced around in a hats and had a blast!
All Choked Up
I wore the right outfit this holiday season when I was all choked up about being sponsored by my agency for the Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) Certificate Program. I was one of only four selected out of 600 personnel. It was quite moving because I am relatively new to my organization, it was a big honor to be selected. Without even knowing about the selection I wore this studious button up blouse with a beaded choker. It worked great in place of a tie. Timing and fashion is everything.
Color Trend: Grey and Burgundy/Ox Blood
Color Trend:
Burgundy/Ox Blood
You cant really be shy if you are wearing anything called ox blood but that seems to be the trending color of season. It reminds us of cinnamon and spice and everything nice. So if you have a few pieces in ox blood or burgundy, make sure you pull it out and put them in the work rotation. Not feeling so bold, tome the color down with a neutral like grey. How will you wear ox blood in the new year?

Military Gone Bright: Camel + Cobalt +Tangerine
Trend of the Day:
Military
Color Mix:
Camel + Cobalt +Tangerine
Wow the cold air outside made me want to post a pic from earlier times this season. The weather may have changed a bit but the military trend is still on point. As a matter of fact anything military is back in-style and I love it. If you are trying to dress up a muted military toned piece then try pairing them a bright hue like cobalt or tangerine. Feeling little more militant then usual, then buck up against the normal french manicure. This time I went with a black tip, inspire by camouflage and the seasons darker nodes.
Graphics that Work Great At Work
I was inspired by an Ann Taylor ad to put together a graphic look that would look great a work. So I paired this classic color-blocked shift dress (similar)with a sophisticated Anne Klein necklace (similar)from Macy's. Since the look was so tailored I tried a new messy bun look. What do you think? Are you trying any new holiday hair looks? You too should pull out your color-blocked or graphic dresses and pair them with some tights and boots to get a great new fall look.
Pile on a Fresh Fall Palette #1:Chartreuse + Burgundy + Neutral
Color Trend:
Chartreuse + Burgundy + Neutral
Hey Suities! Fall is my favorite season, it is a time for change. A change in the colors of the leaves, the need to wear a jacket and for me a change in lifestyle and location. I am happy to say that this fall I bought a new home. Luckily it is one that is not too far from my last. I am so happy about this life change and just like I am happy about this fall's fresh palette of rich jewel tones are making this season's pieces all the more engaging. The colors look even better piled on in complementary, contrasting, and shades of the same hue like:
- Cobalt blue and navy
- Cranberry and yellow
- Jade and plum
- Fuchsia and navy
- Metallic with oxblood
- Mustard, hunter green & navy
- Chartreuse and cobalt
- Citron and burgundy
Harry Potter Halloween
It is almost Thanksgiving I realized that I never had the chance to post a few of my Halloween pictures and since my costumes was so school girl chic I thought I would go ahead a post it. Here is my husband dressed as Harry Potter (but he looked a little more like Snape), I dressed as Hermione and my daughter was supposed to dress up like Valdemort but ended up dressing like a dementor creature. The point is we had a blast, I cant wait until next year. What fashions did you wear this Halloween?
Pants With Pizazz
One of the must haves for fall this season are printed pants. To be honest, anything that is printed will do! I opted for a printed jumpsuit, that is comfortable, reflects my personality and has a little pizazz. Wake up a work outfit by replacing your go-to pants with a printed version. You can find them for under $30 at everyday places like Ann Taylor's, H&M,and Old Navy.
