SWWC: How to Shine at your Holiday Party
Every holiday season there are so many events to attend, so how can you set yourself apart and really shine? Try these three tips:
- Go for a Sultry Fabric Sheen- This year I attended our friends fantastic holiday party at the ultra chic Hotel Washington. I picked up this little blue Eliza J dress from Ross for $30. I cant tell you how excited I was to wear this dress! The flared, bell shape and rich, shiny fabric made me feel like a million bucks! The guys suits had an amazing shine to the fabric that made them look extra sultry. I am always cold so this champagne cover up from Macy's came right on time.
- Bring the Bling- My girlfriend Kristen had gold leaf invites that said shiny attire encouraged, so I picked up a few baubles from Ross like my necklace and earrings that really made me shine.
- Sequins Shimmer- Janelle's amazing emerald and Kristen's glamorous gold sequined dresses really shimmered in the amazing holiday lights.
Here are a few pictures of the W Hotel. The food, drinks and ambiance were amazing!

Authentic Style
Have you ever felt like you put on a outfit that truly reflects your authentic style? Well I have and this was most resent one. From the thrifted wool blazer, leather blocked skirt to my signature coach bag, this outfit felt like home. As I continue on this great style journey I plan for many more windy, authentic days like this where I feel that style, comfort and I are in great harmony. How would you describe your authentic style?

Little Black Dress
This season your best friend will be a little black dress. It is very versatile and with all of the great parties you will be attending it will come in handy. I got this ABG dress at TJ Maxx! Can you believe it? Here are a few more great LBD's to pick up this season: (1), (2) and (3). If you already have a LBD but want to jazz it up, add a statement necklace like mine from Bakers. Trying to take your dress coat to the next level? Start by adding a chain belt. It is tons of fun and easy to do. What do you wear with your LBD around the holidays?
SWWC: Creating Thanksgiving Fun
Happy Thanksgiving! If you are anything like me you are trying to make a memorable holiday for your family. Here are a few of the ideas I have incorporated:
- Holiday Decor- I found this easy free Thanksgiving printable from pizzazzerie.com that really made it feel like the holidays.
- Yummy Kiddy Snack- This great chocalate and peanutbutter acorns snack from sixintheburbsblog.com that the kids will love to eat as much as they wil love to make.
- Fun for the Kids- Download this great mad lib and tic-tac-turkey template.
- Memorable Moments- We are using the "I am thankful for cards" and hanging them on my give thanks tree. Check out the Photo booth mustaches from the pizzazzerie packet.
- Fun for Adults- We will be playing dominoes and sipping on Cinna-cider, which is fireball (Cinnamon) whisky and apple cider. See how to make these cool glasses here.
SWWC: Nicole Kidman’s Opulent and Powerful New Look
Check out Nicole Kidman’s opulent and powerful look in Jimmy Choo’s autumn/winter 2013- 2014 campaign. Her femme fatale look, along with Choo’s rich color palette is glamorous to say the least. If you are looking to transform your presence from blah to a force to be reckoned with then take control and take a note from Nicole Kidman’s lookbook this season.
SWWC: 3 Ways to Wear Black and White

Looking for a way to rock the traditional black and white look at work? Look no further and go in one of 3 ways:
- Separates- There are no better investments then in pieces made in this color palette, as Olivia Palermo displays with her textured, black and white print on print.
- The Dress- Graphic, printed or color blocked, you can’t go wrong with rocking a black and white statement dress. Check out Nicole Richie to see how it is done.
- The Suit- Traditional or Nontraditional, like Jennifer Alba displays, you can’t go wrong with this color combination.
The Hot and Cold of It All
I have been impacted by the government shutdown so I haven't been off to work for a few days however for all the ladies who have had to go to work, how have you been dressing for the hot and the cold of it all? The last time I had to jet off to work it was 57 degrees, so I selected this light pale pink outer coat from Ann Taylor to get me through the morning chill and then this sleeveless blazer that I picked up from Auntie Te's Consignment store in Annandale, VA, to get me through the 83 degree afternoons. What are you wearing to stay cool in the heat and warm during the morning chill?

Meet with your Feet
Last week was a hot one and finally I had the opportunity to enjoy it. I got up from my desk and had a walking meeting with a co-worker. Yes, I said a walking meeting. Some days we are so busy that we can't even get up from our desks, so we planned to make it happen. In preparation for my walk, I needed a flexible outfit that would be business appropriate for all of my actual meeting but still comfortable enough to walk around in. I found this sleeveless top from Ann Taylor in my closet and it worked perfectly. In a walking meeting you are able to do both, work and walk. In our meeting we were to get up to speed on our case load, get some fresh air and exercise, generate some new ideas, enjoy the weather and grab lunch to bring back to the office. So the next time the weather is nice but you have a scheduled meeting. Grab your coworkers and take it to the streets.
Now you know how I multitask. How do you fit in both work and exercise?
