We run through life looking forward to the future, dreaming of what we want to be when we grow up and what we have to do to scratch something of our checklist. We run so fast that sometimes life flies by and then something happens to make you stop…

Today I had the privilege of spending real time with a few of my coworkers. They shared some of their real life struggles and hardships with me. We were all sharply awakened by a passing of a young coworker last month and each of us even more recently have been painfully reminded that this life is precious and is not promised to us.  I felt honored that these women slowed down in their busy mornings and shared a real moment with me.  We shared, cried and uplifted each other and then went along our day but each one of walked away knowing that at that moment someone really cared about what we were going through. It was just a short period of time in the big scheme of the things but it was amazing.  I am moved by emotion and honesty that was shared in that moment.

It also reminded me that  it is National Wear Red Day, sponsored by the American Heart Association. Heart disease is currently the #1 killer of women, to bring awareness to this day people all over are world are wearing red.  We never know when it will be our time but there are things that we can do about it. For one wear red today or any day to remind people to schedule an appointment, this is a time when fashion may really save your life or the life of someone you love. REAL TALK, REAL WOMEN, REAL CHANGE!
